The 2002 Arbor Day program, moderated by Principal Jean Taylor, included a presentation by the 6th grade chours.



Also on the program was a dramatic reading of the History and Origins of Arbor Day and a Poetry Reading.



Mr. Tommy Taylor provided information on the "Darlington Oak" species and a rap session on trees.

The event concluded with a tree planting ceremony. A Darlington Oak was planted on the school lawn honoring Senator Strom Thurmond's 100th Birthday.
